Lorsque Suslov

a appris pour la catastrophe nucléaire de Tchernobyl, le 26 avril 1986, il travaillait comme chef de chantier dans une ville secrète de la République socialiste soviétique d’Ouzbékistan. Il s’est immédiatement porté volontaire pour être « liquidateur », un de ces centaines de milliers de soldats et de civils soviétiques, pour la plupart enrôlés, qui ont été chargés de nettoyer le site. Sa mission de Suslov était d’aider à la conception du sarcophage géant, autrement dit, une tombe en béton et en acier construite en 8 mois pour contenir les restes fumants de l’Unité 4 de la centrale nucléaire. Ce sarcophage a été remplacé par un autre, cette fois-ci pensé pour durer au moins un siècle. Conçue et construite par les géants français du BTP Bouygues et Vinci pour 1,5 milliards l’arche a été inaugurée le 29 novembre. Suslov s’est rendu sur le site ayant connu le pire accident nucléaire de l'histoire. On lui a alors simplement dit : « Bon, tiens-toi prêt. » Sur place, on lui a ensuite fourni des vêtements de travail légers, ainsi qu’un bonnet et un masque de chirurgien. Aucune protection pour les ondes radioactives. Alors qu’il se penchait à l’angle du bunker duquel ils coordonnaient les ouvriers chargés de faire couler le béton et de souder l’acier du fameux « abri », comme ils l’appelaient, son patron l’a tiré vers l’intérieur en criant : « Hey ! Que fais-tu ? Tu cherches à te faire irradier ? »

Lịch sử sân vận động Mỹ Đình

Tham gia đấu thầu xây dựng sân vận động Mỹ Đình gồm có 4 công ty là Bouygues (Pháp), Hanoi International Group (HISG – Trung Quốc), Lemna-Keystone (Hoa Kỳ) và Philipp Holzmann (Đức). Quá trình đấu thầu đã có những cáo buộc về vi phạm các yêu cầu tài chính, kỹ thuật, sự minh bạch trong đấu thầu. Tháng 8 năm 2001, HISG đã thắng thầu và ký hợp đồng cam kết.
Năm 2002, công việc xây dựng sân Mỹ Đình được bắt đầu thực hiện. Mới đầu sân có tên gọi là Sân vận động Trung tâm. Tháng 6 năm 2003 thì kiến trúc của sân được hoàn thiện. Tháng 8 năm 2003, sân vận động được mang tên chính thức là Sân vận động Quốc gia Mỹ Đình. Tháng 9 năm 2003 lễ khánh thành sân được diễn ra trùng với lễ Quốc Khánh của Việt Nam.

Khán đài A của sân vận động Mỹ Đình được thiết kế kiên cố. Hệ thống mái che rộng với đường kính 1,1m nặng khoảng 2 nghìn 300 tấn. Khẩu độ 156m có tác dụng che mưa, che nắng cho khán giả ngồi xem bóng đá.

Khán đài B của sân Mỹ Đình
Khán đài B của sân Mỹ Đình được thiết kế theo hướng đối diện. Nếu đứng nhìn từ trên cao xuống, hai mái vòm giống như đôi cánh thiên thần ôn trọn sân thi đấu ở chính giữa. Khán đài B gồm có hai tầng với thiết kế chiều cao khoảng 25,8m. Vị trí chỗ ngồi của khán đài bao quát trọn vẹn khu vực phía dưới sân thi đấu.

Khán đài C của sân vận động Mỹ Đình có 1 tầng với chiều cao 8,4 mét. Khán đài C có vị trí ở phía Bắc với thiết kế hàng ghế từ thấp lên cao.
